About the accommodation

Whether you are just passing through the West Somerset district or spending the weekend in Exmoor, you should definitely book a room at The Butchers Arms Bed & Breakfast, located in the Carhampton village. The 350-year old inn is specialized in hosting families as well as solitary wanderers.

Once you reach your destination, you will be overwhelmed by the peaceful surroundings and the traditional architecture that you will find here. You will not have any problem in finding the bed & breakfast, as it is one of the largest buildings in Carhampton. More than that, the inn showcases a spectacular aluminum sign, built by renowned sculptor and artist, Rachel Reckitt, which is hard to miss. Still, if you find yourself lost along the narrow alleys of the village, just ask one of the friendly locals who will point you in the right direction.

The Butchers Arms Bed & Breakfast currently has four accommodation options for its guests. Two double rooms are available for any couple who wish to spend a romantic weekend in a quiet, charming location, or for lone travelers who choose to take a rest from their adventurous roaming of the South Western coast of England. Another two rooms are easy choices for larger groups or families of four or five members. One of them even has a small kitchenette where meals can be prepared. However, considering the delicious food served by the inn’s restaurant, we doubt that there will be any cooking done in the small but cozy kitchen.

Guests of the Butchers Arms Bed & Breakfast can spend their time walking the streets of Carhampton and talking to the locals, or go for a small trip to the beach in Blue Anchor Bay. Nature enthusiasts can spend the day trekking on the Quintock Hills, while the laziest of all visitors can just stay in their rooms and enjoy a relaxing holiday.
